What is a Global Entry membership?
A global precheck membership provides qualifying, low-risk travelers with expedited security screening and customs processing
when re-entering the U.S. from a foreign country. For instance, precheck global members can use automated airport
kiosks when re-entering the U.S. by air or expedited processing lanes when entering the U.S. from Canada or Mexico
by land. Additionally, members may use TSA PreCheck security lanes when traveling within the U.S. by airplane.
After enrolling in this trusted traveler program, members receive these benefits for five years before they need
to renew their membership.

Is Global Entry worth it?
With a Global Entry pass, qualifying program members can go through airport security more quickly after leaving an international
destination and arriving back in the United States. Instead of waiting in lines, completing arrival forms and undergoing
extensive security screening after an international flight, trusted travelers can use an automated kiosk to check
themselves in at several Global Entry locations. For instance,
participating airports include:

As part of this trusted traveler program Global Entry also provides members with expedited airport security screening at
many foreign airports around the world, in addition to TSA PreCheck benefits when flying within the United States.
For instance, members may also enroll in the Australian Smartgate, Dutch FLUX, Korean SES, Mexican Viajero Confiable
and the Panama Global Pass programs if they wish to expedite the process of entering these countries by airplane.
While Global Entry cards are meant to expedite customs processing, the CBP does not guarantee expedited security screening
for all pre-approved travelers, as program members may need to undergo additional screening if necessary. Additionally,
the CBP may suspend these TSA precheck international benefits at any time, especially if program members violate
any terms, conditions or safety measures.

How to Use Global Entry
As a trusted traveler program, Global Entry expedites the customs process when qualified, pre-screened members enter the
U.S. by air. Upon entering the country, travelers simply need to use a clearly marked airport kiosk to present a
machine-readable Permanent Resident Card or U.S. passport, complete a customs declaration form and scan their fingerprints.
However, a Global Entry card cannot be used as proof of eligibility at an automated airport kiosk, as passports or
Permanent Resident Cards are the only types of acceptable documents.
After completing this process, Global Entry members will receive a receipt of their transaction, as this is needed to proceed
to the baggage claim. If the receipt contains an ?X,? however, travelers must speak with a customs officer at a nearby
passport control booth before they may proceed. If the receipt contains an ?O,? travelers must speak with a customs
officer to discuss their declaration.
While Global Entry cards are not necessary to use these automated airport kiosks, travelers must present these credentials
when entering the U.S. through NEXUS or SENTRI lanes. Generally, new participants receive a membership card within
10 days of joining this trusted traveler program. However, new members must activate their credentials within 30
days of receiving the membership card, or they will not be able to use SENTRI or NEXUS lanes when entering the U.S.
How can Global Entry members use TSA PreCheck lanes?
Global reentry members automatically receive access to TSA PreCheck lanes at participating U.S. airports, as long as their
boarding pass permits them to do so. Therefore, members who wish to use PreCheck airport security lanes must enter
an active PASS ID when booking their flight reservations, and this number will then be printed onto their boarding
